Why do some friends, family members, speakers, presenters or network marketers command and keep other people’s attention?
How do they persuade others to buy their products or join their team within a relatively short time?
How are they able to effortlessly persuade people and have their audiences running to buy whatever it is they are selling, while other speakers just seem to talk and talk but people don’t buy and it seems that no one even is listening to them?
The problem is the “golden rule - do unto others as you would have done unto you.”
When you wish to persuade another, unless you have similar values and life directions, it would be unusual if they actually specifically wanted the same things that you do.
Yes… there is a general overarching umbrella of human needs. Most people want to be successful in relationships, most people want a better life, better health, most people want a better standard of living for their families, themselves and their communities.
Once that general need is established the “platinum rule” as referred to by Tony Alessandra is to “do unto others as they would like to have done to them.”
This means give them what THEY want instead of what you want.
How does your product or service satisfy the needs of your audience... once you have established that you can service their needs?
Then the next part of persuasion so that people will listen is to be an expert, be passionate about your product and demonstrative to keep their attention

Even when the product or service is obviously a “perfect fit, it will still benefit the persuasion equation if the presenter is excited about the benefits - what it does for the customer, if the speaker is knowledgeable about the features of the product or service and can visually show or demonstrate the results that are obtained from using the products.
Your chances of persuading your audience and have them listening, sometimes at the edge of their seats, is to have a topic or product that you are passionate about and you can talk about in a way that the audience gets to experience your passion and believe the information you are sharing.

Remember give them something they want. Present it to them with genuine passion, enthusiasm and depth of knowledge. Discuss the benefits and demonstrate those results whenever possible, be willing to answer questions and open to receiving orders.
